The questions related to all science subjects in the PMC MDCAT Exam are primarily conceptual in nature. Therefore, it is advised that students avoid rote learning techniques, and try to understand the underlying concepts related to all topics.
This MDCAT Complete Preparation Bundle course, alongside our other subject-specific courses for MDCAT Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, make sure that students gain adequate conceptual knowledge behind all topics and questions related to PMC MDCAT science subjects, through the use of our innovative mechanisms such as the “Learning Box.”
Obviously, the Biology portion has the most number of questions, and it would not be inaccurate to term this portion as the ‘heart’ of the exam. Regardless of the fact that pre-medical students already have a good command over this subject, this subject still deserves the most attention by students. Students may be familiar with the concepts and topics of the course, but students must still get acquainted with the kind of questions that’ll be asked in the exam in relation to these topics.
This is where Tabir Academy’s course High Scoring Biology for MDCAT proves to be an excellent resource for students as it familiarizes them with the kind of questions asked in the exam, and offers extensive practice on how to tackle them.
Prior to the new syllabus introduced in 2021, Chemistry used to have the most number of questions after Biology. Now, Chemistry and Physics have the same number of questions. However, this does not mean that the importance of focusing on Chemistry has diminished in the PMC MDCAT exam. While preparing for Chemistry, it must be kept in mind that questions related to organic chemistry, for example, are more conceptual in nature as compared to physical chemistry.
Tabir Academy’s High Scoring Chemistry for MDCAT course adequately equips students with the appropriate techniques to address each and every section of the Chemistry portion of the Exam.
Coming from pre-medical backgrounds, most PMC MDCAT candidates tend to lack practice regarding numerical questions, especially those that involve extensive mathematics. Which is why students tend to have a hard time in the Physics portion of the exam and the numerical questions that appear therein. It is advised to not leave the Physics portion for last while attempting the exam. Giving due attention to Physics and obtaining proper conceptual knowledge is vital to acing the Physics portion, and the exam as a whole.
The High Scoring Physics for MDCAT course offered by Tabir Academy is best resource on the market to address this issue, as it helps students keep track of their progress and enables them to give due attention to topics in which they are lacking. This helps the students solidify their preparation and strengthens their chances of success.
In addition to science subjects, the English portion of the exam and the newly added Logical Reasoning portion also require you to use your critical thinking abilities and have clarity of concepts. Our courses for MDCAT English and Logical Reasoning are ideal sources to start your preparation for PMC MDCAT today!
Want to know how to ace your logical reasoning section? Read on!
Since a lot of the students in Pakistan are not exposed to logical reasoning questions during their Matric/FSc days etc., they are not as familiarized with the subject as they are with others, such as English or Science subjects.
Check out the following tips to familiarize yourself with logical reasoning questions for the PMC MDCAT and ensure your chance of success:
Similar to questions from other subjects, logical reasoning questions have their own set of terminologies which students must familiarize themselves with in order to get a better grasp on the subject. Terms such as premise, argument, inference, or for example the difference between deduction and induction are concepts which students must learn in order to improve their command over logical reasoning questions. As students go through our course and the extensive questions offered therein, they’ll become familiarized with such concepts. This will not only help them to differentiate between questions belonging to one topic or another, but it will also help them navigate better through the course as a whole.
As a side note, it is important to keep in mind that students must not lose focus on their preparation for English and Science subjects in the PMC MDCAT in order to prepare for this new section. Our preparation courses for MDCAT Biology, Physics, and other subjects are ideal sources to make sure that students get a well-rounded preparation for the PMC MDCAT.
Students are advised to inculcate some basic analytical values before and while tackling logical reasoning questions. Values such as interpreting i.e. seeking patterns, or inferring i.e. forming conclusions based on available evidence or reasoning, or, most importantly, critical thinking i.e. the ability to question things and not take them at face value, are all absolutely essential. Inculcating these and similar values in your thinking habits is vital to achieving success in logical reasoning questions.
Logical reasoning questions are primarily a test of the mind. In order to ace this section, your mind has to be at is sharpest. In order to keep the mind sharp, try to play games, such as crossword puzzles or chess, which test the mental faculties of individuals. In addition, a healthy mind and healthy body go hand in hand. Therefore, exercise regularly and be mindful of your sleeping patterns in order to keep your mind in peak condition.
Although this is related to the previous point, but its importance merits that it be discussed separately. All logical reasoning questions require that you be able to maintain your focus and attention for long periods of time. This is necessary to follow the arguments presented in questions, or to make inferences and deductions/inductions etc. In order to improve your attention span, you must practice as much as you can. The wide variety of questions offered in this course will enable the candidate to constantly be on their toes and improve their focus and attention.
Now that you’ve got a good command on how to become better at these questions, it’s time to enroll at our course and start your journey for PMC MDCAT success right away!

1. My admission is confirmed because I did well in FSc./ A Level
Students often enter MDCAT study with the mindset that their FSc/A-Levels score trajectory will follow in their MDCAT results. Especially, for high achievers, success tends to get in over their head, and rather than devoting the time and energy necessary for scoring well in MDCAT and getting into a medical school, students become overconfident. As the Urdu saying goes, “Gharoor ka sar neecha.”
Hence, although the syllabus for MDCAT online preparation 2022 is almost like your intermediate syllabus, both exams have completely different paper patterns, study requirements. To get clouded by overconfidence is losing your one shot at MDCAT which weighs for half your merit. We urge students to stay humble and keep working hard until they see their names on the merit list. Plan your MDCAT study, give it your best and forget about how you did in FSc/A-levels for now.
2. It is All About Science, Not the Verbal Section:
Indeed, MDCAT is predominantly a science test. Traditionally science subjects including physics, chemistry, and biology have dominated the test. However, focusing merely on these subjects sets you up for a major failure.
The current MDCAT syllabus not only consists of sections of biology, chemistry, and physics but also has an English section as well as a logical reasoning section. Doing well in these two sections might just be the deciding factor between who does well in MDCAT 2022 and who doesn't. Most of the students stand almost on the same standard when it comes to sciences which you have been focusing on for at least the last two years, sometimes at the cost of your language skills. So, to get that edge, it is important to prepare holistically, keeping in mind all the sections and their weights.
3. Repeating is always an option:
Yes, you can sit the MDCAT as many times as you want. You will have the next year to try again. Yes, this is not the end of the world.
Yet, this is your one chance to realize your dreams. A total of 121,630 students appeared in MDCAT 2020 fighting for the select prestigious seats. With so many prospective aspirants, the odds do not favor someone with a confused mind. Your preparation must reflect your enthusiasm for becoming a doctor. While, we encourage having a Plan B, but when presented with Plan B students tend to lag and not give opportunity right in front of them their best.
We encourage you to do your best this one time because sitting MDCAT repeatedly is an exhaustive process. The merit continues to increase every year and you are going to be the same person. So, to wait for the situation to magically change is unrealistic. A better approach is to give your 100% at present and secure the title of Dr.
4. There is a magic potion for success:
Run a single google search and you will come up with posts over posts about the shortest path to success? How I completed MDCAT study in 2 weeks? So and so forth.
Unfortunately, success, especially success in MDCAT is not a lucky draw win and there are no magic potions for success. High achievers are not born with unicorn wings. Believe it or not, they are just like you, just with a better work ethic and a clear goal.
What they have in store is an age-old boring routine:
5. Seniors know it all:
Do you have seniors telling you, “Bhai kay pas ajana!”, “Bhai ko sab pata hai,”
Take advice from these seniors with a grain of salt. Often, these people themselves have failed to do well in MDCAT, but like the attention which comes with mentorship without ever having any meaningful contribution to make to your academics.
Instead of taking advice from just anyone, make sure you utilize your resources smartly for MDCAT study. There is no harm in listening to all but act on the advice you are sure is coming from a reliable source. Do some research, cross-check your resources to see if this is the material used by high achievers or not. Pick your mentors wisely, those who have a future like yours, or those who inspire you to work hard by their work ethic.
6. MDCAT is the end of the world:
MDCAT is one of the most prestigious tests and doing well in it gives one a well-needed validation. But is it the end of the world? Absolutely not!
As the saying goes, “Prepare for the best, expect the worst.” In case, you do not do well in MDCAT 2022, do not lose hope. Instead, be vigilant and see what other options are available to you and how can you apply for them.
Tabir offers in-depth NUMS test preparation and we highly encourage you to sign up.
Your dream of becoming a doctor does not end with MDCAT study. It is only just starting, and we, at Tabir Academy, are here to support you at the various stages of the process.
