Understanding the role
The last notice reviewed advertised general, band and mounted constable posts at **BS-07**, published by [ICT Police](https://islamabadpolice.gov.pk/). Band and mounted posts carry extra requirements on top of the general standard.
Eligibility in the last verified notice
- **Education:** Matric or equivalent for general and mounted constable; band constable additionally required expertise with a musical instrument.
- **Age:** 18–25 years for fresh candidates. A narrow court-ordered exception applied to certain 2024 candidates and was not a general relaxation.
- **Height:** 5 ft 7 in for men, 5 ft 2 in for women.
- **Chest:** 33 x 34½ in for men, with no relaxation in height or chest.
- **Endurance run:** one mile in 7 minutes for men and one mile in 10 minutes for women.
These standards replace the conflicting heights and 1.5-mile timings that appeared in the older version of this article.
Selection stages
The published 2026 sequence was: online application and fee payment, physical measurement and endurance test, computer-based or written test, interview with document verification, and a final medical examination.
The official notice did not support the older article's claims about jumping exercises or a fixed English, mathematics and general-knowledge syllabus, so those details have been removed rather than repeated.
Medical examination
The ICT notice directs candidates to government or district hospitals for pre-test checking, and places the final examination with a Federal Government Civil Surgeon or medical board.
The older version of this page named Lahore hospitals. That was wrong for an Islamabad Police guide and has been corrected.
How applications were submitted
The closed drive used online applications through ICT Police and NPF Testing & Assessment Services; applications by hand, courier or email were rejected. The fee was Rs 2,000 per post for that drive. Use the current notice for the live deadline, fee and payment method.
